Personal Information We Collect
“Personal information” means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to you. We collect:
- Device information. We collect your browser version, IP address, time zone, cookie information, the pages and products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site. We collect it automatically through cookies, log files, web beacons, tags and pixels. We use it to load the Site correctly and to understand how the Site is used.
- Order and booking information. We collect your name, billing address, phone number, email address, and payment information (including card numbers, which our payment processor handles), along with the classes, sessions and products you book or buy. You provide it when you book or purchase. We use it to fulfill your bookings and orders, process payments, send confirmations and receipts, communicate with you about your booking, and screen for fraud.
- Booking details. We collect guest names, project choices, waiver or ID confirmation where a class requires it, check-in records, and the status of items you make with us. You or the person who booked for you provide it. We use it to run your class and to let you know when your pieces are ready.
- Communications. We collect what you include when you email, text or message us. We use it to answer your questions and provide support.
Text Messaging (SMS)
If you text us at (855) 360-7006, or tick the text messaging box when you book, Smashed Studios (Blue Plate Marketing LLC) will send you text messages about your bookings, orders and questions. These include replies to your messages, booking confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and notices when your items are ready for pickup. We do not send marketing text messages.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, or STOP to opt out at any time. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers, text messaging opt-in data, and consent are excluded from all information sharing described in this policy, including Behavioral Advertising and Shopify Audiences. The only exception is the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf. See our Text Messaging Terms at https://smashedstudio.com/apps/bookable/text-messaging.
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
- provide our classes, experiences and products, and manage your bookings, including check-in, waivers, ID checks where required, and item pickup;
- process payments, refunds and exchanges;
- communicate with you about your bookings, orders and questions, by email and, if you have opted in, by text message;
- keep you up to date on new classes, products and offers by email (you can unsubscribe at any time; we do not send marketing text messages);
- understand and improve how the Site is used;
- detect and prevent fraud and keep the Site secure; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Sharing Personal Information
We share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, for example:
- Shopify, which powers our online store. You can read how Shopify uses personal information at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Booking, messaging and payment providers, which help us take bookings, send confirmations and texts, and process payments, only to provide those services to us.
We may also share personal information to comply with laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request, or to protect our rights.
We never sell your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in data, and we never share them with third parties for their marketing.
Behavioral Advertising
We use personal information to show you advertising we think may interest you. For example:
- We use Google Analytics to understand how customers use the Site. You can read how Google uses personal information at https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/, and opt out at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- We share information about your use of the Site, your purchases, and your interaction with our ads on other websites with our advertising partners. Some of this is collected through cookies or similar technologies, which you may consent to depending on where you live.
- We use Shopify Audiences to show ads on other websites to shoppers who bought from other Shopify merchants and may be interested in what we offer. We share information about your use of the Site, your purchases, and the email address associated with your purchases with Shopify Audiences.
We never share mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in data with advertising partners or Shopify Audiences.
You can opt out of targeted advertising here:
- Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads
- Google: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/anonymous
- Bing: https://advertise.bingads.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/policies/personalized-ads
- Digital Advertising Alliance: https://optout.aboutads.info/

Cookies
A cookie is a small amount of information downloaded to your device when you visit the Site. We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Necessary cookies keep your cart, checkout, login and privacy preferences working.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how the Site is used, using Shopify analytics and Google Analytics.
- Advertising cookies help us and our partners show you relevant ads.
Most cookies expire between 30 minutes and two years after they are set. You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings, often under “Tools” or “Preferences”; see www.allaboutcookies.org for help. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site work. It may also not fully prevent sharing with advertising partners; use the opt-out links above for that.
Do Not Track
There is no consistent industry standard for responding to “Do Not Track” signals, so we do not change our practices when we detect one. Where required by law, we honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising.
Minors
The Site and our classes are not intended for individuals under the age of 21. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Retention
We keep personal information for as long as we need it to provide our services, keep records of your bookings and purchases, meet legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, or until you ask us to delete it where the law allows. Text messaging opt-out records are kept so that we continue to honor your request.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your personal information;
- receive a copy of your information or have it transferred;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for targeted advertising; and
- withdraw consent, including consent to text messages (reply STOP).
To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@smashedstudio.com. We may need to verify your identity first. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for proof of their authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
California residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to ask us to correct or delete it. Contact us using the details above.
Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. We process your personal information on these lawful bases: your consent; to perform our contract with you; to comply with legal obligations; to protect vital interests; and for our legitimate interests where they do not override your rights. You may object to processing based solely on automated decision-making that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. We do not make such decisions. Our processor Shopify uses limited automated tools to prevent fraud, such as temporarily blocking IP addresses or cards linked to repeated failed transactions. These do not have a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please don’t send sensitive information through unsecured channels.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the “Last updated” date.
Complaints
To make a complaint, contact us by email or mail using the details under “Contact” above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact your local data protection authority.
