WHAT ARE CLAY STENCILS?
- Professional-grade 10mil acetate stencils (3x thicker than craft stencils)
- Semi-transparent Clear material allows precise placement and pattern alignment
- Flexible enough for curves, rigid enough for clean edges
- Chemical-resistant surface works with all ceramic mediums
Using Clay Stencils
- Position stencil on leather-hard clay and hold firmly
- Dab colored slip through openings with dense sponge using patting motion
- Apply 2-3 thin coats rather than one heavy application
- Lift stencil straight up while slip is still wet for clean edges

How it Works:
- Face Stencil: Covers the inner/center “face” area of the form. Use alone for a patterned “face” or combine with a Rim Stencil for full coverage and fun pattern pairings.
- Rim Stencil: Covers only the rim/border area. Use alone for a patterned rim or combine with a Face Stencil for full coverage and fun pattern pairings.
How to Pick a Size:
- Round & Square: Each Face Stencil: Fits its matching cutter + form on its own. Can also be used as the face on the next size up when paired with that size’s Rim Stencil
(e.g., 3.5" face + 5" rim, 5" face + 6.5" rim, etc.). - Rectangle & Rounded Rectangle: Each Face Stencil is matched to a specific cutter + form size. Pair it with the Rim Stencil for that cutter size for full face + rim coverage in fun pattern pairings.
- Large Pieces + Freeform: Use the 12" x 12" Full Clay Slab Stencil for one-piece full coverage on larger slabs or freeform pieces made without cutters + forms.
